Things passed down

I am a sucker for items passed down through the generations. I, myself, attempted to save a number of my own items so that I could hand them down to my children. Sadly, though, my collection has slowly dwindled thanks to my overpowering desire to be rid of "stuff". I have a somewhat sad memory of making the decision to get rid of ALL of my stuffed animals at one point...even my Snoopy. It's sad now because a few of those stuffed animals I would have loved to give to my children, including a very cute dog that my PawPaw had given to me.

Really, though, stuffed animals or whatever it may be, I love items handed down that have a meaning attached or create some sort of connection. Imagine my joy and excitement when my sister-in-law passed down a few of Peter's baby outfits. OH WHAT FUN!!!

Peter (left) was about 5 months old in this photo. I so wanted to wait until Allister could sit and I could take the same exact picture, but alas, Allister (right) is two months old (and cannot sit on his own just yet) and he is almost too long for this outfit, so I decided to make due.
Probably one of my most favorite things is creating photo ops that resemble past photos!

And then he turned 2 (months, that is)

Allister is two months old now...and I am reminded of that more today than ever before as he is on his way to the doctor's office for his 2-month shots. Boo!! Thankfully, Peter has banned me from going to the shot appointments because I get too nervous :) But, I sit here awaiting his return so that I can cuddle with him and comfort him!

Allister has proven to be a fairly easy infant and has been very patient with a mother and father who are learning how to take care of such a small soul. We've recently had guests from out of town and he was very accomodating as we loaded and unloaded him from the car seat, tooling around town, showing our guests the sites.

He's also been a great sleeper...GREAT sleeper. He's regularly sleeping 9 hours and had been sleeping 8 or more beginning at 5 weeks old. Every night when we put him to bed, he goes to sleep without a fuss, which has really given Peter and I some time to relax and enjoy each other.

I could keep bragging on my boy...I love that kiddo SO MUCH!! But...here's to Allister, my trooper...

Our Bundle

Well...he is here, for two months now! We have been quite busy adjusting to this completely new life style. Not too busy to post for two months, that part is laziness, I think, but busy, nonetheless.

We decided that going from no baby to having a baby has been a MUCH bigger change than was the change from singlehood to marriage. Wow, is it ever an adjustment....but oh, so rewarding!

Allister John Blaser was born on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 3:27 pm, two weeks after his due date. We began our induction on Thursday, March 5th and Allister decided to join us, via cesarean, the following day (more on the birth story later).

Introducing our 8 pound 14 ounce bundle...

More to come...
