5k Turkey Trot

We woke up to this...

...it was FREEZING! And it was the one day out of the entire year that I opted to wake up early to go run 3 miles. But it was the 4 Stewarts back together again to run the 5k Turkey Trot!

We entered the race together...and half of us finished together (Lydia and I stayed together, while the other half finished ahead of us!)
Here's the progression...I'm sure you can see why we were behind the other half (seeing as how I'm the one taking the pictures, while we were running) :)

Preston and Kristina getting ahead of us. This happened right away!

Filled with adrenaline; bright eyed and all smiles!

Getting a little tired. Crowd starting to thin out a bit. Not so bright eyed, forcing a smile!

Feeling the burn; cheering on the other two as they lap us!

Wonderful memories of the 4 of us together, and our parents even got to be there (as our cheerleaders)!

We might just have to do it again next year!

Hair Cut

Allister: "Aster hewa cut"
Momma: "Yes. You got a hair cut, didn't you?"
Allister: "Aster hewa cut. Wide da hoesie"
Momma: "Yep. When you got a hair cut, you got to ride the horsey!"

It's a little sad to me that, seemingly overnight, my baby turned into a toddler. One of the latest reminders of this aging process was the first hair cut.
What does he remember from the hair cut? Not the massive amounts of m&m's and gummy bears he experienced for the first time. Nope! Nor does he talk about the cartoons that were loudly playing in front of him (also a first). He remembers the fact that he got to ride a play horsey while his hair was cut!

Niece Experience...I'm so clever with my titles!

I haven't shared, yet, one of the neatest experiences I have ever had.
August 22nd, 2010, my precious niece ClaraWren Hope was born...and I got to be there! Besides the fact that my sister did a wonderful job and (almost) completely restored my hope in the possibility of a good labor, it was just one of the best things I have ever experienced in my life.
I got a call at about 11 pm on August 21st (Peter's and my 5 year Anniversary...Happy Anniversary to us!!) in which Paul informed me that Krissy's water broke and they would be heading to the hospital soon. I got so nervous excited that I couldn't even fall asleep until about 2 am. Then I got another call at about 4 am, in which Paul said "It's time" (which means, "Katy, get your self down to the hospital NOW"). I was at the hospital at 4:15, and in the room "helping" Paul squeeze Krissy's pressure points during contractions. Yes, I do say "helping", because at one point Krissy, very gently, but with a lot of pain, pointed out that someone was not pushing on her pressure points hard enough...that was me!
About 5 am, precious ClaraWren made her entrance into this world...and my word, is she a doll!! I know I'm biased, but she is beautiful!!
Happy 3-month Birthday precious girl!!
