Albuquerque Century 2010

He did it, yet again! Peter rode the Albuquerque Century for the third consecutive year and did a great job!
Allister and I were there at the finish and got to cheer on the other riders, as well as "Da-da".

Allister had on Peter's riding number.

To see the last two year's rides, check out this post.

Allister the Fearless

Does anybody else see a problem with this picture?

Or this one?

Yep, that's my little man with a TARANTULA crawling up his shirt. (I have the chills just looking at it) And Peter is holding back his hands so he doesn't try to grab it.
Allister did give it a nice drool bath, though!

Thanks, again, to Ruth for taking pictures!

Birthday Weekend...

...started with Friday night, box seats at the Isotopes game with family. So fun!! Sadly, though, I took no pictures, but it was fun, just the same.

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to the Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed some homemade breakfast

made for us by good friends
and spent some time strolling through the gardens. (I, again, took no pictures, so thank you, Ruth, for taking some)

When we returned home we were met by some friends who made a birthday gift for us. What fun!!
Of course we had to play a game.

Allister got to spend the night with Papa and Honi while Peter and I went on a birthday date night. First we went to eat at St. Claire's Winery and Bistro. Yummy! And the waitress gave us a free brownie! Yummy-er!

After dinner, we headed over to the zoo for Symphony under the Stars.
Lovely! I'm just letting you know, if you've never gone, you seriously need to go. So fun and lovely!

Sunday morning we picked Allister up from Honi and Papa's home and headed to church, where we dedicated Allister at a dedication ceremony.

Afterwards we went to Honi and Papa's house for a birthday celebration (three of us on the same day, my sister's father-in-law, Peter and myself)...and cookie cake :)

A very buys weekend, but all in all, one of our favorites, as we got to see many of our favorite people who made us feel very special!

part 1, If We Lived In the Country...

...we would go down to the pasture and we'd get to feed the cows!

Notice Allister's mouth saying "moo" in EVERY shot!

He LOVED the cows and seriously walked right up to them when they were feeding. They were definitely more afraid of him than he was of them.

Here's the Story...

...I've been looking to buy a piano off and on for some time now. Not too expensive, because we don't want to spend the money. Not too big, because we don't have the space. Not too old, because we want it to hold a tune. And on and on. I frequent the craigslist page and found myself flipping through the piano section. As I was looking, someone sent a new piano post. "It is a nice piano, but we don't have the room and we just want it to go to a good home. No cost, you just have to come pick it up." Great! I jumped on it, and e-mailed right away.
I planned on going to peak at it (to see if it fit all our criteria) in the afternoon. As I had a little time beforehand, Allister and I went to visit his Papa at work (which was in the area). My uncle happened to be there and the conversation came up about the piano. My uncle is, to say the least, a piano enthusiast. He knows his pianos! He adamantly encouraged me to get a digital piano as they are the "way of the future". I decided to hold on before looking at the free piano and talk to Peter over lunch.
I headed over to Peter's work and ran into his boss' wife on her way out. We started chatting, Peter came out and we were about to head out, when I jokingly mentioned to the boss' wife that "Peter was going to buy me a piano for mother's day". She stopped me mid-sentence and said, "Don't buy one! I have one that I'm trying to get rid of and you can just have it!" and continued on listing the details, "digital...small, but with full set of keys...." etc, etc. Exactly what I've been looking for and exactly what my uncle had recommended!
Yep...that's the story. Thank you, Lord!!

Allister and I sit at it every day and play little diddies...
